The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life is a tool and guide that can be used on a daily basis. It can be compared to a spiritual map as it is a visual portrayal of the descent of the Divine Spark into physical manifestation, and also the return path from the Earth plane back to the original source of Creation.

This ‘tool and guide’ can be used on a personal level. It can also be used on a universal level in that we can relate the teachings to the whole of humanity.

To look at a picture of the Tree of Life you can see there are 10 coloured circles and 22 connecting lines.  The circles are called sephiroth (plural) or sephirah (singular).

Every sephirah is numbered and corresponds with different information associated with the area being studied. For example that information could be in the form of symbols, spiritual experiences, vices, virtues, angels, archangels, crystals etc. This ‘tool and guide’ can be used on a personal level. It can also be used on a universal level in that we can relate the teachings to the whole of humanity.

Each sephirah focuses on a different aspect of energy and offers insights and challenges to overcome to help you on your quest to return to your spiritual roots and reunite with the spiritual source.

The sephiroth are also known as Temples or inner connection points.  A temple is a place you can use for meditation purposes where you can receive inspiration and insights, and strengthen your connection with your higher mind.  The way the temples work for you is through the power of visualisation, and through your senses and feelings. Everyone’s experience will be different and relevant to them alone. Therefore you must go with what feels right for you and try not to be swayed by the thoughts and experiences of others.

The lines are called ‘paths’ – they align with the 22 major trump tarot cards.  As you journey deeper into the Tree of Life you begin to walk the paths.  Each path is situated between two sephiroth.  The path has its own specific intention and links two sephiroth together in one complete experience.  Like the temples, this experience will often be reflected in everyday life.

  3. There is a flow of the pathways between the spheres.
The paths transition from one sphere to another.
Each sphere represents a state of being.
Each pathway represents a state of becoming.
For example...the path from Kether to Chokmah is a pathway taking the idea of being to the idea of force. When the path is going up, the idea of force is becoming the idea of being

  4. The first 3 spheres are the supernatural spheres--the primordial energy of the universe. The next stages of evolution on the tree of life are considered to exist beyond a space on the tree known as the"Abyss" , between the"supernatural" and the other spheres , because the levels of being are so distinct from each other that they appear to exist in 2 totally different realities. The supernals exist on a plane of devinine energy. Binah can be the idea of suffering because the "supernatural" maternal energy gives birth to a world that is inherently excluded from that Devine union. After Binah the universe begins to build the materials needed to fulfill it's evolution and creating new combinations of these materials until it is so dense that by the stage Malkuth the inial pure limitless energy has solidified into the physical universe. Since it's energies are the basis of all creation, the tree of life can potentially be applied to any area of life, especially the inner world of man, from subconscious all the way to the higher self.
The tree of life also speaks of the origins of the physical universe out of the unimaginable but also of man's place in the universe.man'sconsciousness is thought of as the fruit of the physical world, through whom the original infinite energy can experience and express itself as a finite entity.

  5. As a symbol the tree of life goes back to ancient tims. The oldest example was found in Turkey dating back to about 7000 BCThe tree of life represents the intrconnectedness of everything in the universe. It serves as a reminder that you are never alone or isolated but that you are connected to the world.
The tree of life also represents the connection to ones family and ancestors. The intricate network of branchs represents how. Family grows and expands throughout generations.
It symbolizes fertility--it always find a way to keep growing , through seeds or new saplings .it is lush and green signifying vitality.
The tree is a symbol of strength and growth.
The tree symbolizes one's individuality and personal growth .
Over time tree gain more unique characteristics as branches break off and new ones grow..all throughout the tree remains strong and sturdy, just as people grow and change over a lifetime.
The tree symbolizes rebirth and immortality..it seems to be dead during the winter but then new buds appear in the spring representing the beginning of new life and a fresh start. Even as the tree grows old it creates seeds to produce new saplings, a sign of immortality.
Trees evoke a sense of calm and peace so it is understandable that the tree of life is a symbol of peacefulness and relaxation.u

  6. The 10 spheres can be seen as the 10 words or magic spells spoken by God at creation. These 10 words emitted ripples of energy that radiated into the emptiness of space; blending and coalescing into everything around us.
The Kabbalah assigns a distinct name of God for each sphere. That name (mantra or magic spell) functional as an invocation of energies of that particular sphere.
God uttered these 10 words to manifest the energies of the cosmos.
An individual can chant these 10 names to encase himself in the ethereal energy that is needed.
For example, if you feel you would benefit from a more intense connection to the sphere of beauty, you can amplify that relationship by imaging yourself in a golden sphere (the color of the sphere of beauty) while chanting the name of God for beauty...Yod Hey VavHey Elohim Va'Da'At

  8. Sefirot areobjective paths
The paths connecting the sefirot are subjective
The 32 paths of wisdom come from the Torah..Genesis, chapter one
The paths of wisdom concept is derived from the 32 times Elohim is mentioned in genesis , chapter one....two exceptions to this are 1-GEN1:1 and sephira 1/Kether, wherein "Elohim said " is assumed 2-GEN1:29 and elemental 12/Qooph, wherein the focus shifted from Elohim said to "I have given you all"
